Sneakerhead Limey!
It’s no secret that my Limemates are my work family - they are seriously the best. That’s why I’m always so sad when they move on to other opportunities. Last week I lost one of my biggest supporters/encouragers, RW, to grad school, so I decided to channel the sadness into something positive - a Limey.
RW is a sneaker collector, so I decided he needed a Limey with sneakers. I found an inspiration picture online and set to work making Limey some rather large sneakers. It took about 3 “drafts”, but I finally got them to a point that I was satisfied.
I plopped Limey on RW’s desk on the morning of his last day and a little while later he comes over with Limey in hand and they’re wearing matching sneakers! It was a fabulous last day coincidence.
As always, I hope Limey is out there bringing happiness and all the good memories.
