Elf Coat

I previously wrote about how I’d purchased a large amount of cupcake and mandala yarn without having a plan of what to do with it. Thanks to Ravelry, I was able to see what other people had made with these yarns and came across Morale Fiber’s Elf Coat. It seemed like the perfect thing to make with my Lion Brand Mandala yarn in the Gnome colorway since I could easily envision a bright rainbow colored coat. The coat is made using Tunisian knit stitch which was completely new to me, but thanks to the stitch video tutorials linked in the pattern I was able to pick it up pretty quickly.

The coat was crocheted in panels that were sewn together then edged in linked double crochet (which was also new to me). I think the end product turned out beautifully even though it is quite loud due to the colors. This was a really fun project!
