Sunshine Calling
I bought a treadmill at the beginning of the year in order to move more and I’m so thankful that past me did this since I had no idea we’d be in a long term stay at home order due to coronavirus. Lately I’ve been struggling with my regularly scheduled treadmill time - viewing it as a chore and something to just “get it over with.” I’ve also been fighting a seriously negative attitude all week and frankly it was annoying me that I couldn’t shake it.
Hotpot at Home
Another spot we miss being able to visit is hotpot (shout out to Swish Swish!). Going with the theme from last week, we’re having it at home instead.
Homemade Spicy Pork Bulgogi
We are people who like to eat food and quarantine has us missing some of our favorite spots like KBBQ. Jeff decided to try making one of his favorite foods from KKBQ at home - spicy pork bulgogi.
More Lisa Frank
I find coloring in my Lisa Frank adult coloring books really therapeutic lately, so here’s another page I recently completed:
Holo Taco Unicorn Skin
Time for some nail art goodies! Simply Nailogical’s Holo Taco recently released a new line of toppers she deemed unicorn skin (more references to some of her older videos). They’re flakie top coats that change color based on lighting and the base color they’re painted over. I bought all three: Aurora, Cosmic, and Solar. They arrived and I was super excited based on how they look in the bottle.
Tea Hoarding
Jeff and I have recently developed an obsession with tea drinking that has resulted in acquisition of lots of tea “stuff”. It all started when we decided we liked the tea at a local Korean BBQ restaurant (you know, back when people could safely eat in a restaurant). We eventually discovered the tea was called hoji-cha and went on an expedition to the local Asian market to pick some up.
Making the Most of an Unintended Staycation
We had plans to go to Las Vegas with a few friends last week, but those plans did not work out due to coronavirus. This was some of my first scheduled time off since reset season and I love eating my way through Vegas, so the disappointment here was intense even though I know cancelling the trip was the right choice for all involved. We chose to eat our way through some of our favorite nearby restaurants via takeout instead (and Jeff did a bit of cooking/baking/pasta making too). It was no Vegas, but it was the next best thing given the current state of life.
