Jeff Makes Stuff: Tarts
Jeff has made tarts in the past, but was dissatisfied with his tart molds as he had a lot of trouble getting the wavy edges to come out nicely. To fix this, he purchased some new tart rings with smooth edges and he’s been really happy with them so far.
Lacey Lake Top
I was really into the idea of crocheting myself a pool/beach cover up for our Maui trip, so I did some looking around online for patterns. I ultimately decided on the Lacey Lake Top from Hands of Zeal since the pattern did not look complicated. I ended up making two versions: rainbow and black.
Maui Trip 2022
We took our first trip of the new year to Maui this week and it was exactly what I needed to rest and recharge.
Holo Taco Winter Shimmers Collection
When I heard Cristine compare the new Winter Shimmers collection to unicorn skins with smaller pieces, I knew I wanted to get it. The box arrived this week and I couldn’t wait to get it open and see the polishes with my own eyes.
Learning to Block Crochet
I have been crocheting since 2013 and have never blocked a project since I’ve mostly dabbled in amigurumi which do not require blocking. My current WIP has a netted look (I’ll disclose what it is later in case it doesn’t work out and I end up frogging it). That combined with my incredibly tight crocheting resulted in a bunched up looking rectangle that I could not get to stretch out properly so I decided it was time to learn about blocking.
New Year, New Nail Art
I didn’t use all the colors from the Holo Taco Cristmas Collection in my holiday nail art, so I decided to use the last two shades (plus one from a previous collection) for the new year nail art competition.
Happy 2022!
We didn’t exactly get a white Christmas this year - instead we got a white week after Christmas
