Stained Glass Granny Square Purse
Mom sent me a picture of a granny square purse that one of the ladies in choir had received as a gift from her daughter in law a few months ago. Me being me, I took this as a challenge to secretly create her a more interesting looking granny square purse.
I browsed lots of squares until I came upon a stained glass granny square YouTube tutorial from Creggy’s Crochet and could totally envision it using a dark color and some kind of variegated yarn. My initial thought was a variegated peachy tone yarn paired with a dark solid, but I couldn’t track this down near me. I ended up finding this lovely Cotton Sox Splash from Cascade Yarns in the color Hydrangea and paired it with some black I already had in my stash. It didn’t take me too long to work up (which is good since this was kind of a wild hair of a project with a hard deadline of Mothers Day) and I was happy enough with the end result that I told Mom I’d happily take it back if she didn’t like it (she refused :P).
