Keto Food Roundup

In the past year, I have grown obsessed with buying keto foods online - mostly thanks to things I see on Instagram. Here’s a roundup of some things I have tried:

ChocZero Syrups

I ordered chocolate and maple sugar-free syrups from ChocZero last summer when I was going through an egg loaf phase. The initial experience was sub par since both bottles arrived with damaged lids, but ChocZero customer service quickly sent me new bottles that were packaged better that arrived undamaged. I haven’t gotten a ton of use out of the chocolate syrup except for egg loaf (terribly pictured above - which I have since cut back on), but Jeff really likes the maple syrup when we eat pancakes (more on that later in this post). I’d say both are worth a try if you’re missing certain things while keto-ing.

FBomb Nut Butters

I purchased the 4 pack sampler (salted chocolate macadamia, macadamia with coconut, macadamia with sea salt, and macadamia pecan with sea salt) from FBomb’s website last August since I was looking for an easy mid-morning snack to take to work. They tasted great and were easy to pack, so I ended up ordering a 10-pack of the macadamia with sea salt flavor. Again, these were great to take to work - I just decided to keep moving on the order all the keto foods train.

Kawaii Treats & Eats Pancake Mix

I had recently started following the creator of Kawaii Treats & Eats on Instagram when I found out about her store. I saw all the rave reviews for the pancake mix and finally bought some in October since pancakes are definitely a thing I miss from pre-keto times. The fuss was definitely warranted - Jeff and I agree that these pancakes are great. I’ve since ordered a couple more bags of this mix and am due to order a few more. It’s a little pricey, but the taste outweighs the cost in our opinion.

Keto Bars

This was a product I had on my list of keto foods to try, but I don’t remember the source where I actually first heard about it. I purchased a 10 bar sampler pack from the Keto Bars website in early January and really enjoyed all three flavors (mint chocolate, chocolate peanut butter, and dark chocolate coconut almond). I ended up ordering a box of chocolate peanut butter as well as a box of dark chocolate coconut almond at the end of January since they turned out to be a great mid-morning work snack.

Keto Fresh Foods Cookies

I had previously ordered some keto cookies from a different brand that I didn’t really care for due to a texture and was fairly bummed about it. Enter Keto Fresh Foods and some good reviews from Instagram keto-ers I enjoy following and who felt similarly to me about the other cookie. I bought a box of 12 cookies and was pleasantly surprised. These had a nice soft/chewy texture with a good flavor. I would definitely have ordered more if Jeff hadn’t wanted to start baking his own since these are a little pricey.

Nui Cookies

These were the first keto cookie I bought last August (around the time when I started ordering keto food left and right). I ordered an 8 pack of the double chocolate since the chocolate chip version wasn’t available at the time. I liked the chocolate flavor and the convenient packaging (2 cookies per pack so you could easily take them to work or wherever), but I couldn’t get past the crumbly texture. Unfortunately, I decided these cookies just weren’t for me - I wouldn’t order them again.

Rebel Ice Cream

If there’s one thing I miss on keto, it’s ice cream. When I saw a keto ice cream on Kickstarter I was beyond excited, but I waffled on whether or not I should back it since shipping ice cream seemed like a melty mess waiting to happen and I wasn’t super willing to take a chance on flavors. I ended up waiting until January to purchase a few pints from Rebel Ice Cream’s website (vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter fudge, strawberry, and coffee chip). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this ice cream turned out to be great! All the flavors tasted the way we expected them to and Rebel did a great job of teaching us how to prep the ice cream (aka leave it out a while) for optimal texture. The shipping was high ($16.99), but it’s lower when you order a whole case of a particular flavor (or free for multiple cases). I ended up ordering a case of coffee chip and strawberry recently. My freezer is full of keto ice cream and I couldn’t be happier.

Senor Avocado Bites

I saw a keto Instagram influencer mention these freeze dried avocado bites when reviewing a monthly keto box last August and thought they might make a good mid-morning snack for me to take to work. I ended up purchasing a 4 bag sampler pack from Amazon since it wasn’t available on Senor Avocado’s website at the time. When Jeff and I tried these, we noticed the texture was strange (though we were prepared for that due to reading some reviews beforehand), but this was something we though you could get used to. The thing that defined these avocado bites for us was the weird aftertaste - we just couldn’t get past it. Unfortunately, this is another product that just isn’t for us.

Whew, that was a lot of writing about all my keto purchases. I’m sure I’ll continue buying and trying stuff, so expect more of this type of post in the future!

Finally, here’s a disclaimer: I bought everything showcased in this post and I’m not sponsored by anyone/anything. All opinions are my own (or Jeff’s where indicated). Happy keto-ing!
