It’s been a bit since I wrote about the local restaurants we’ve tried, so here it is!

Jeff has been practicing his cake skills lately and made two versions of a mixed berry layer cake with swiss meringue buttercream over the course of a few weeks.

My birthday was this week and we celebrated with lots of tasty food.

I pull most of my baking inspiration from things I see on Instagram. Trader Joe’s recently posted a banana recipe contest and the grand prize winner was a banana whoopie pie recipe by Louise Nielsen.

As previously stated in my Peeps shortbread cookies post, Jeff likes to make a baked good to take into work on Mondays. He was unavailable to make a baked good this week so I decided to practice my almost never used baking skills again. This time I was inspired by the confetti cookies that recently showed up at Costco’s bakery - they don’t appear to be the prettiest cookies in the world, but I bet they taste pretty great just like most other Costco baked goods.

Jeff likes to make a baked good to take to work on Mondays since it helps him build his Instagram food picture portfolio (and probably also does some good for team morale). He was unavailable to make a baked good last Sunday, so I decided to make something for him instead. I was inspired by all the Easter candy that’s been floating around and decided to make some shortbread cookies shaped like Peeps bunnies.
