Mosaic Crochet Sample

I previously noted that I liked the pattern from my Empress skirt so much that I wanted to figure out how to do this design not in the round to make some placemats. I found an inset mosaic crochet tutorial from Bella Coco recently and whipped up a swatch with leftover yarn to see if I like it.

I am really digging the way this turned out, so I’m going to work on a full sized placemat for testing next. I’d ultimately like to create a set of fall themed placemats with brown and some kind of fall colored self striping yarn (think yellow/orange/red) that I could use for Jeffsgiving each year.
