The Woodstock Top

I recently decided it was time to use the mandala yarn I bought a bunch of in 2020 and 2021, so I chopped it up into individual colors and went on the hunt for suitable patterns. I came across the Woodstock Crop Top pattern by Jane Green of Beautiful Crochet Stuff on Hobbii’s website. It looked like a cute pattern for my stashbusting goal (and it was free!), so it quickly became my fifth project in Operation Crochet Warm Weather Stuff.

This project felt like a good fit for the colors in my Lion Brand Mandala yarn in Peacock, so I set to work to decide what order I’d like to put it in for the pentagons (also taking into account how much of each color I had since the amounts weren’t even). I was pretty happy with the way my 5 pentagons turned out based on the order I used, so I attempted to mimic that order as I added length to the bottom. I’ll admit that this part turned out a bit wonky compared to the pictures in the pattern, but that’s ok for a stashbuster project! More details on my modifications can be found in my Ravelry project.

Overall, this was a pretty easy and quick top to whip up with the worst part being sewing in all the ends from the color changes. It wears well with a regular racerback bra and can probably layer over a tee or long sleeve top when it gets colder - it doesn’t get much better than that!
