The Wonderland Top (modified version)

CrochetwithAlannaMiall’s Wonderland top is the third clothing project I ever crocheted back in 2021. Unfortunately, I don’t wear it a lot - the yarn I chose makes it fairly heavy and droopy and I don’t love the ties. I’ve crocheted many clothing items and learned a lot since then, so I decided to make a new version that I think I’ll wear more as my fourth project for Operation Crochet Warm Weather Stuff. This version is short sleeved, tie-less, longer, and uses yarn that I frogged out of my 1st Nami top (because the variegation absolutely killed the stitch definition and that made me sad).

To create this version, I followed the pattern’s instructions for the back panel as written, made 2 v-panels then joined and continued on to create a front panel with a v neck, sewed the front and back panels together, created sleeves as specified in the pattern, and added length in rounds to the bottom essentially following instructions for the sleeves. More details on my modifications can be found in my Ravelry project.

I’m so pleased that I decided to try some modifications with this top so it’d suit me better. It turned out nice and light, layerable (I’m a Millennial - I always wear tank tops under stuff), and the Summer Nights yarn variegation adds to the design instead of detracting from it.
