Stitch Fix #7 - August 2016

Sometimes I'm like a little impatient kid when it comes to waiting for my Stitch Fix box to arrive.  This month, I thought it was going to arrive early since I received a "your fix has shipped" email on Friday the 26th when I had scheduled the box for Wednesday the 31st.  I was beyond pumped!  Imagine my disappointment when I checked the tracking number on Monday late afternoon/early evening to discover the box had just left Stitch Fix's warehouse.  I can't even tell you how much I wish someone would update all the package tracking systems of the world to only send a notice of shipping once the package has reached the actual shipping company to be transported to the receiver since this happens a lot.  But enough of my grumping, you're here to read about my fix.  This month, I requested a solid colored blazer and left the rest up to my fabulous stylist, Melissa.

Liverpool Elizabeth Super Skinny Jean - Kept

These jeans are fantastic.  I love the dark wash, the fact that they're pull on (make fun of me all you want, I don't care), and that they're actually too long for me so I can cuff them.  They're also a decent price for jeans that I'll be able to wear often.  My only concern is how much they'll stretch with wear since the wash instructions are a little weird.  I've been considering doing a Stitch Fix clothing wear and tear update in the future, so I'll add these to the list of things to update on.

Pixley Lagio Mixed Material Top - Kept

I was so happy to pull this out of my box since I pinned it recently.  I love the colors/print on the front, the lace detail at the neckline, the length, and the fact that it's not too flowy at the bottom.  The price point was also just right.  I love it when items I pin and receive fit well and look good on me!

41Hawthorn Queensland Dolman Jersey Top - Returned

My stylist suggested pairing this top with the skirt from this fix (see below).  I love the color of this top (it's dark purple... I always have trouble capturing and/or editing photos to show the true shade of purple an item is) and that it's very soft material, but I just don't love the way it fits me.  I want to like dolman tops, but most are just too big/baggy in areas that I don't find flattering on me.

Renee C Elinor A-line Skirt - Returned

This is a nice skirt, but not for me.  The color, flower pattern, and cut were okay, but the material and fit didn't work for me.  I can't figure out why, but the material seemed odd (97% polyester, 3% spandex).  The fit was also not compatible with my body shape and made my waist look like a sausage in too small a casing.  I hope this skirt finds its forever home with someone else next month.

Kensie Rebekah Stretch Crepe Blazer - Returned

This blazer is so cute and I love the polka dot lining.  My stylist suggested wearing it with a simple white cami or blouse, so I pulled out a beaded tank I bought in summer 2014 from WHBM.  Unfortunately, the blazer was a tad too tight through the shoulders and it pulled/rumpled strangely in the front.  I was definitely sad to put this one in the return bag.

Final thoughts on this fix

This month's items were really cute, but due to fit issues some of them weren't for me.  I'm so impressed that my stylist consistently translates my style profile, rambling notes, and Pinterest comments into a fabulous fix each month since I usually can't even figure out my own style.  The day Melissa leaves Stitch Fix is the day I consider whether or not to continue subscribing.  Just kidding... or am I? :P
