We're finally ready for Christmas!

I haven't really felt in the holiday spirit lately due to the stress of getting through busy season at work and that's been kind of eating at me. I decided to see what I could do to fix this and I think I've finally succeeded!

I put up my beautiful ceramic Christmas tree on Friday. It's one of my favorite things about the holidays. Mom and Grandma M. made several of these together many years ago. This particular one was gifted to my Grandma I. and passed down to me a few years ago. It's now lighting up my room (aka a cat free zone to avoid breaking it) and I couldn't be happier.

It also wouldn't be Christmas without red cake. This is a tradition that Grandma M. started a long time ago... possibly also having something to do with her birthday being on December 23rd. Jeff whipped up this cake earlier today. We were too lazy to cut the layers, but it's every bit as tasty as hers. I'm so lucky to have a husband is such a great cook that can help me carry on traditions!

We're officially ready. Merry Christmas, everybody!
