Foil Holiday Cards

I’m still excited to be learning new things about my Cricut and just making crafty things in general. I love shiny things, so it should come as no surprise that when I heard about the foil transfer kit I just had to have it. I unfortunately had to order it online since my local Joann’s had incorrect inventory listed on the website (aka the store associate agreed it was listed as in stock, but it was nowhere to be found on the floor or in the back). Thankfully, it didn’t take very long to show up so I could start crafting.

Jeff packed up some goodie boxes for our neighbors, so I took that as an opportunity to make some foil holiday cards. I used the Happy Holidays Card template in Design Space (#M199A47CE) and I will say my first attempt using the foil transfer kit did not go so great. I had some difficulty with the foil tearing as well as pulling up bits of cardstock when trying to remove the adhesive strips used to attach the foil. The next few tries were better as I learned more about how to tape down the foil without causing myself frustration/tearing later.

Overall, the cards came out nicely. I think I still have a lot of learning to do about how to adjust the settings on the machine as well as how I tape down the foil in the future. I sure hope practice makes perfect in this case.
