Stitch Fix #29 - April 2019

Stitch Fix #29 - April 2019

I scheduled this fix as a post-busy-season reward that kind of turned into an April thing to look forward to due to some changes going on at work. I was so happy to see that my stylist from my December 2018 fix, Sarah, was back to style me again! I get super excited about Sarahs coming together to do anything (just ask my coworkers who are also named Sarah - I’m kind of ridiculous), so I was happy to hear she will be stepping in since my former stylist, Lori, has moved on. Sarah sent yet another awesome fix - read on to see more!

Snowmageddon 2019 & BBQ

Snowmageddon 2019 & BBQ

The greater Seattle area had Snowmageddon 2019 over the last week. Jeff and I were stuck in the house for way longer than we liked, but they don’t have the people power to clear the roads like they do back home in the Midwest/on the East coast. It’s a thing that makes us pretty unhappy, but it is what it is and we’d rather stay safe than get into an accident or get stuck somewhere. On the bright side, we got some really pretty (and quite large) icicles on the back of our house.

Back in our food loving world, we were pretty excited to get out of the house to try Jack’s BBQ this weekend with a few friends. For reference, Jeff and I haven’t found many barbecue restaurants we’d actually consider good since we moved to Seattle (we’re barbecue snobs and we admit it) - we were hoping this place would be different. We ordered quite a few things to get a good sampling of the food: pulled pork, a sausage link, brisket, pork ribs, a cup of chili, slaw, and collard greens.

Ombre Snowflake Nails

Ombre Snowflake Nails

While I love keeping my nails shellac-ed with pretty nail art, I often have 0 ideas about what I should do when I actually sit down to do my nails. This is one of the many reasons I love Instagram - I can follow great nail artists while also seeing nail art from other non-professionals like me.

It’s no secret that my current favorite brand of stamping plates is Lina Nail Art Supplies, so their Instagram is one of the first places I tend to look for inspiration. They shared some awesome ombre snowflake nails by CopyCatClaws and I just had to replicate them.
