Hot Cocoa Ornaments

These cute little hot cocoa ornaments came from a Mary Maxim kit that my Mom bought a few years ago that I finally got around to crocheting. They worked up pretty quickly, but I don’t know if I’d make them again.

The kit was meant to create 6 ornaments total - 3 red and 3 white. I was able to make 10 (5 of each) by adding some safety eyes when the buttons ran out. Buttons for eyes aren’t my style, so I prefer the look of the ones with the safety eyes anyway. The cups were easy to make, but the small noses and marshmallows were annoying. If you don’t like to sew things together like me, this kit probably won’t be your favorite due to sewing on button eyes, noses, and all the little marshmallows. The overall end product was pretty cute, though. Mom gave these out as gifts to my aunts, uncles, and cousins and I got positive feedback on them so I’d say the annoyance of sewing little pieces on was worth it this time.
