Stitch Fix #9 - October 2016
Happy October! I scheduled my Fix a little earlier this month so I'd have time to actually blog about it in the month I receive it (next weekend's post is reserved for all things Halloween, obviously). I didn't have anything specific in mind for this fix, so I once again asked Melissa to surprise me. She did a fantastic job, as usual, especially since I have been doing a terrible job of keeping my Pinterest board up to date. I'm also excited that my friend RN of WhiskyWoof recently decided to give Stitch Fix a try (check out her post about it here). She even used my referral link, so shout out to her for technically helping out with the cost of this month's fix! :D

San Fran Trip 2016
We took a short trip down to San Francisco last weekend to attend our friend SCL's housewarming party. Outside of a few snafus(delayed flight, possessed alarm clock in the hotel room next door, our bag somehow not making it onto our flight home), we had an enjoyable and quite delicious trip.
Crochet Mohop Ribbons
A few months ago I purchased some Buttercream soft knit solid yarn at Joann's because it was orange and indeed very soft to the touch. I recently got the idea to use it to make a ribbon/top part for my beloved Mohop sandals. My first goal was to make an intricate design that would be stationary and somehow tie onto the loops at the bottom. After spending quite a while trying this with regular ribbons, I realized it just wasn't feasible the way I was doing it. I ended up taking inspiration from this post on Mohop's Facebook page . It turns out this lacing design was created by Rebecca Mojica of Blue Buddha Boutique (my favorite chainmaille source) and she even made a Youtube video of how to do it yourself. I don't have the fancy hybrid sandals Rebecca is wearing, so I attempted to design something that would work for the low wedge and flat sandals I purchased a few years ago.
Stitch Fix #8 - September 2016
I love my monthly Stitch Fix box since I always manage to schedule it at just the right time to be something exciting and fun when other stressful stuff is trying to ruin my week. I told my stylist, Melissa, to surprise me this month since I tend to really enjoy the items she sends when she doesn't have to deal with my rambling "I want this" notes.
Orange and Shiny Original Amigurumi Collection: Pets
I was over crocheting farm animals, so I decided to try making a dog and a cat. I wasn't 100% happy with the arms and legs I used on the pig, horse, and cow, so I redesigned them for the dog and the cat. I suppose the legs on the farm animals make sense since they have hooves, but I may try them out with these new limbs that have paws to see if I like them better next time.
Bathroom Redo
There was recently a cat, shelf, toilet incident in one of the bathrooms in my house. An unnamed individual was using the toilet when a fluffy orange cat decided it was a good idea to jump from the counter onto the top shelf above this person. The person quickly moved out of the way after seeing the cat land poorly to avoid being scratched to death as the cat fell off the shelf (and thankfully landed on the toilet tank). Unfortunately, part of the pile of washcloths from the top shelf fell with the cat and landed directly in the (used) bowl. Eew. Pog's need to climb and sit on these shelves while in the bathroom has been a concern for a while, especially since they are glass and not meant to hold cats. Unfortunately, this incident was the last straw and I decided the shelves had to go. I knew that they would leave holes in the walls, so I needed to select new bathroom art to cover the holes. I also really disliked the striped walls and decided it the perfect opportunity to paint over them.
